Features :
- Implements the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol for Rapid Recovery (802.1D), supporting recovery in the order of less than a second.
- Supports Multiple Spanning Tree Instances (802.1s) to enable more than one forwarding path by associating one or more VLAN Ids to each of the spanning tree Instance.
- RSTP and MSTP bridges are designed to flexibly interoperate with bridges running in STP/RSTP/MSTP modes.
- Supports High-Availability redundancy (Optional).
- Supports all features specified in the draft MIB for RSTP.
- Requires minimum efforts, during integration with external modules (Port Based Network Access Control, Link Aggregation and VLAN/GARP).
- Generic set of NP APIs are provided for all the components of RSTP/MSTP for effortless integration with Switch Hardware
- Can be easily integrated with different types of switch hardware from various vendors.
- Provides support for configuration and management through SNMP and CLI.
- Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring a highly portable code, which uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
Benefits :
Aricent RSTP/MSTP reduces the time to market for OEMs and VARs who wish to incorporate the RSTP/MSTP functionality into their switching/routing devices.
