Features :
- Implements Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol for Rapid Recovery (802.1w), supporting recovery in the order of less than a second.
- Supports Multiple Spanning Tree Instances (802.1s) to enable more than one forwarding path by associating one or more VLAN Ids to each of the spanning tree Instance.
- RSTP and MSTP bridges are designed to flexibly interoperate with bridges running in STP/RSTP/MSTP modes.
- Supports all features specified in the draft MIB for RSTP.
- Requires minimum efforts, during integration with external modules (Port Based Network Access Control, Link Aggregation and VLAN/GARP).
- Generic set of NP APIs are provided for effortless integration with Switch Hardware.
- Can be easily integrated with different types of switch hardware from various vendors.
- Provides support for configuration and management through SNMP & CLI.
- Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring a highly portable code, which uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
- Provides multiple instances support for RSTP and MSTP to facilitate Virtual switching.
- Supports Root Guard feature to enhance network reliability, manageability and security by securely enforcing the topology of the switched network.
Benefits :
