Overview :
Aricent RM (Future Redundancy Manager for 1:1 Redundancy) is a portable software implementation of a framework for providing fault tolerance for software and firmware components in a system.

Features supported :
- Provides 1:1 redundancy for fault tolerant elements.
- Provides seamless integration into warm and cold standby redundant architectures.
- Allows hot-swap and operational software upgrades
- Provides fault detection via built in fault detection module or a system provided mechanism.
- Provides auto-detection of initial node state
- Allows incremental and bulk updates.
- Provides automatic and management initiated switchover option.
- Allows flexibility of locations for active and standby nodes (different processors or cards or different physical systems altogether).
- Allows flexibility of location for components within a fault tolerant node (for example, components could be on different processors).
- Provides individual redundancy for hundreds of components within each fault tolerant node
- Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), ensuring highly portable code using flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
