Aricent's Home Gateway Solution enables chipset vendors and OEMs/ ODMs to quickly build a residential gateway device for the SOHO market on their target platform. The product provides a very high "time to market advantage" as most of the product development, integration and testing is already complete.

Aricent supports a variety of licensing models, which include both source code and object code licensing. Moreover, the licensing of Home Gateway is not restricted to any vendor's chipset or operating system, thus allowing higher levels of flexibility and extensibility compared to other competitive solutions.

The Home Gateway Solution supports bridging and PPPoE based access with the following features:

Access Supports bridged Ethernet Supports the PPPoE client. Authentication using PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP and EAP. NAT Sharing of the IP address account using NAT. Supports Port translation (NAPT). Supports both static and dynamic NAT. Virtual Server support. Supports two-way NAT. A wide variety of ALGs are supported including H.323, CuSeeMe, DNS, FTP, PPTP, ICMP, NETBIOS, IP Multicast, ICQ etc. Firewall Provides support for DMZ and filtering based on access lists. Filtering based on IP options, protocol and IP address. Prevents DOS attacks like SYN Flood, Ping of death, Win Nuke Attack, Snork Attack, Ascend Attack, TCP/UDP short header, Source routing attack, IP spoofing, Tiny Fragment attack, etc. Inhibits access to special sites using URL Filtering. Supports stateful inspection of packets. DHCP Dynamic IP Address allocation for in-house/home office using DHCP Server. Static IP address allocation. Global, subnet specific and host specific option support. DHCP Client for address allocation of WAN interface.
