Case Studies - Network Management
Case Study 1 - Network Management System (NMS)
A leading German network integrator leveraged the resources provided by us in the Dedicated Facility to develop network management software to configure, control and monitor all its ISDN connectivity products. The development done by us involved creating an application that was portable across a variety of platforms including Windows 95, HP OpenView and IBS Netview. The package uses zAPP classes for this development. The module also had features to upload, download & distribute configuration and binary images of the software. The initial versions of the software have been released and work is currently in progress for subsequent releases.
Case Study 2 - Network Manager components
We have developed the following components.
Command Line Interpreter is a standard feature for most of the communication devices that is used to configure, control and monitor the stand-alone devices. We have developed several command line interpreters for different types of devices
Web Enabled Configuration and Management is another standard feature which most of the recent products incorporate. We have developed web-enabling components in devices as well as Java applets that are downloaded and executed at the manager-end. Our approach permits the web enabling and CLI components interface with the configuration items through the SNMP protocol module.
Case Study 3 - TeMIP based development
A Danish communications company was looking for outsourcing development of software modules related to TMN based on TeMIP. This software was required to perform the configuration, management and monitoring functions on the client's telecommunication equipment. We developed several management modules in 1997 and 1998 for the client using TeMIP in a Sun Solaris environment.
