FTM - Fault Tolerance Module

Features :

  • Supports both Level 1 and Level 2 routing.
  • Supports IP only environments.
  • Supports Passive Circuits.
  • Supports Multiple Instances.
  • Supports PPP, Ethernet, ATM and FR at the Data Link Layers.
  • Provides support for all four routing metrics based on configuration.
  • Provides support for Authentication at Link Level, Area Level and Domain Level. Authentication can be dynamically enabled or disabled either in Transmit or Receive direction or both.
  • Implements Smart Buddy memory management for managing variable length buffers, which reduces memory fragmentation.
  • Supports Equal Cost Multi-Path for all the four routing metrics.
  • Implements Lazy-SPF. The rate at which the SPF is scheduled is configurable.
  • Provides support for IP Reachable Addresses.
  • Implements an efficient mechanism for timers thereby reducing the total number of timers required by the protocol.
  • Provides support for dynamically enabling and disabling of Log messages.
  • Endian Neutral and Re-entrant code
  • Provides support for Fault Tolerance via hooks to external Redundancy Manager.
  • Provides hooks for Distributed environments.
  • Completely configurable through SNMP and CLI.
  • MIB Draft-8 Support
  • Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring highly portable code that uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.

Benefits :

Aricent ISIS reduces the time to market for OEMs and VARs who wish to incorporate the ISIS functionality into their routing devices.
