Overview :
Aricent IPv6 is a router specific portable implementation of the next generation Internet Protocol Version 6, complying with the relevant RFCs and Internet drafts. The major components of the software are IPv6 Addressing Features, Path MTU Discovery, Neighbor Discovery (ND6), ICMPv6, UDP over IPv6 (UDP6), Transition Mechanisms for IPv6 (Tunnel), MLD, RTM6 and Ping6 Utility.Aricent IPSECv6 is an add-on component to Aricent IPv6, to bring in security feature for IPv6.

Aricent IPv6 Features :
- Provides support for unicast, multicast and anycast addresses.
- Provides support for IPv6 Packet forwarding.
- Supports IPv6 Fragmentation and Re-assembly.
- Supports processing of IPv6 Extension headers - Hop-by-Hop options, Routing (Type 0) options, Destination Options, Authentication header (AH) and Encapsulation security payload (ESP) and the Router Alert Option.
- Supports Path MTU Discovery.
- Provides support for IPv6 Jumbograms.
- Provides support for static route configuration.
- Provides support for Neighbor Discovery protocol.
- Provides support for Link Layer Address Resolution, Neighbor Unreachability Detection (NUD), Router Redirect and Duplicate Address Detection (DAD) on broadcast media such as Ethernet.
- Supports stateless address autoconfiguration.
- Provides complete support for ICMPv6 functionality.
- Supports following Transition mechanisms (Tunnel) – Configured (IP-in-IP & GRE) and Automatic tunneling (6To4,ISATAP and auto-Compatible) of IPv6 packets over IPv4 cloud.
- Can be easily extendable to Dual IP stack.
- Supports UDP for IPv6
- Supports Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD).
- Provides Common Route Table Manager to manage the routes learnt through the dynamic routing protocols and the routes that are statically configured.
- Supports route redistribution of static routes and the routes learnt through dynamic protocols.
- Supports Ethernet interfaces and Tunnel interfaces of type IPv6 Over IPv4.
- Supports Ping6 Utility for testing/debugging.
- Supports standard interfaces (NETIPv6) for Routing protocols or any higher layer protocols to interface with Aricent IPv6.
- Aricent IPv6 is easily portable and supports both ENDIAN types and multiple operating systems with very little effort.
- Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring highly portable code, which uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
Benefits :
Aricent IPv6 reduces the time to market for OEMs and VARs who wish to incorporate the IPv6 Host functionality into their switching/routing devices.
