Aricent IP Overview :
The Aricent IP (Internet Protocol) software is a portable implementation of the industry-standard IP forwarding. This software consists of IPv4, ARP/RARP, InARP, ICMP, IGMP, BOOTP/TFTP, UDP, and RTM protocol modules.
Aricent IP Features:
- Provides static routes support, promotion of static routes on-the-fly and floating static route.
- Provides multipath and load sharing support.
- Supports ICMP Router Discovery Protocol, domain name and security failure message, path MTU discovery.
- Supports CIDR.
- Supports IGMP Router functionalities and IP Multicasting.
- Fully compatible with Aricent RIP, Aricent OSPF, Aricent TCP and Aricent SNMP Agent.
- Uses the Trie Library mechanism, which provides for easy creation, maintenance and access of routing entries. The routing table is maintained using the Trie data structure.
- Supports ICMP Redirects and IP Forwarding at global and interface level.
- Supports BOOTP client, server and relay agent.
- Supports TFTP server and client.
- Supports unnumbered interfaces for IP.
- Complete manageability using SNMP.
- Supports route table manager and redistribution of static routes and routes learnt through OSPF and BGP.
- Ease of migration across multiple Operating Systems and target microprocessors.
- Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring highly portable code that uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
Benefits:
Aricent IP is easily portable across various architectures and reduces the time to market for OEMs and VARs, who wish to incorporate the IP routing functionality in their products.
