Aricent MTP3 (Message Transfer Part Level 3) is a portable implementation of Message Transfer Part Level 3 protocol of SS#7(Signaling System 7) recommended by ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union- Telecommunication). This software provides common transport functions and procedures for signaling messages in the SS#7 signaling network.

Aricent MTP3 supports interfaces with MTP Level 2, different user parts and the OAM (Operation, Administration and Maintenance) Agent.

• Supports basic and automatic allocation of signaling data links and signaling terminals.
• Supports signaling route management procedures like transfer prohibited, transfer allowed, transfer restricted (in national networks), signaling route set test, transfer controlled (international and national congestion priorities), and signaling route set congestion test.
• Identifies unauthorized messages as per Q705. Inhibits/Allows STP access on the basis of outgoing linksets vs. DPC, incoming linksets vs. DPC and OPC vs. DPC.
• Performs signaling link test and maintenance procedures.
