Aricent DHCP

Email for Info DHCP Support DHCP Feature Sheet

Aricent DHCP Overview :

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is designed to enable hosts (DHCP Clients) on a network to dynamically obtain an IP address from the DHCP Server. In addition to this, various configuration parameters can be retrieved from the server, thus reducing the load on the administrator of an IP network. DHCP uses UDP as its transport protocol.

Aricent DHCP is a portable implementation of the Server and the Relay Agent components as specified in RFC 2131 and RFC 2132.

Features :

  • Aricent DHCP is interoperable with BOOTP clients.
  • Supports permanent, fixed and dynamic allocation of IP addresses.
  • Provides global configuration to avoid repeated manual configuration for each host.
  • Provides host-specific configuration parameters from a DHCP Server to a host.
  • Assigns each client with a network address for a finite lease.
  • Supports USER CLASS Options.
  • Supports a Relay Agent, by which the DHCP Server and Clients on different networks can communicate.
  • Provides complete support for SNMP-based management.
  • Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring a highly portable code, which uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.

Benefits:

Aricent DHCP reduces the time to market for OEMs and VARs who wish to incorporate the DHCP functionality into their switching/routing devices.
