In early 1994, we recognized the trend towards higher speed and higher bandwidth networks using ATM technologies. We initially focused on the technology components for carrying data over ATM networks. Subsequently, we also developed and deployed a complete suite of protocol source code products for ATM signaling and routing, and Label Switching. We have executed several turnkey projects for the implementation of software for ATM and Ethernet Switches, incorporating these protocols and the associated management software. Our development efforts cover the entire range of broadband networking technologies - ATM, Label Switching, SONET/SDH and DWDM/WDM - for the routing of packetised voice, data and multimedia traffic within the Internet in a reliable and secure manner.
We actively track the standards defined by the ATM Forum, IETF, ETSI and ITU-T for the inter-operability and efficient management of networks and network equipment. We are a Principal Member of the ATM Forum and several of its engineering teams have contributed to the standards defined by the Forum.
Our development activities include Label Switching Technologies (e.g. MPLS), Routing technologies (e.g. ATM PNNI, MPoA) and link level technologies (e.g. IP Over ATM, and PoS - Packet over SONET). Our near-term areas of focus include the emerging standards related to IP-ATM Inter-working, and technologies like DWDM and PoS.
